Semper Tek, Inc. served as the prime contractor on this federal renovation project for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Although it was a Design-Bid-Build project, Semper Tek, Inc. worked very closely with American Structurepoint, Inc., the design firm used by the Department of Veterans Affairs for this project. Significant storm water utility and drainage modifications were designed by American Structurepoint, Inc. and Semper Tek, Inc. Project Manager Van Jenkins consulted with the designer/engineer and the on-site VA construction representative to ensure that the designed improvements were feasibly constructed in the field to achieve the desired outcome.
The Repair Roads and Site Access project at the Leestown Road VAMC in Lexington, KY consisted of the repair of existing roadways and parking lots; repair of full depth pavement; repair of sidewalks and curbs; lighting repairs; the widening of the campus entrance; correction of storm water issues; landscape improvements; and re-striping of roads and parking spaces. Work on this project was phased so that the normal operations of this very active healthcare facility environment were not significantly impacted. Semper Tek, Inc. self-performed 27% of this project work, including all concrete pavement and sidewalk construction.
