Semper Tek employee goes “above and beyond” for a Lexington Veteran

Semper Tek, Inc. is fortunate to be able to perform multiple construction and renovations projects for the VanRJenkinsDepartment of Veterans Affairs.  As a Services Disabled Veterans Owned firm it is very important and dear to us to be able to construct buildings and facilities improvements that will aide in the care of those who have sacrificed so much.  Our passion for providing quality project and service to others runs deep within our employees, as is exemplified in this story below:

Van Jenkins is our firm’s Senior Estimator and Project Manager. He has been managing a project we are performing for the Lexington VA Leestown Campus for the past several months. He is not a veteran himself. He is an excellent man and just the type of representative that our firm is extremely proud to have. Please read this letter below which was written by the Contracting Officer Representative at the Leestown VA about Van’s compassion and performance.

Ms. Metcalf,
It is not often that I have the opportunity to boast about a contractor that has gone “above and beyond” their line of duty and responsibility, however, I feel extremely compelled and proud to endorse this letter to you today.
As I am sure you are aware, the smoke shelter is about to open in its new location and the transition phase of demolition of the old shelter is about to begin. During this morning’s walkthrough with the general contractor, an elderly veteran sitting in a wheelchair asked if someone could push him back into the hospital. Before anyone could reply, myself included, the contractor spoke up without hesitation, “I would be happy to”!
As a veteran and VA employee, I felt extremely proud to witness this “above and beyond” act from a General Contractor in aiding a Veteran. Van Jenkins from Semper Tek, Inc. continually demonstrates care for his construction projects and now compassion for his fellow man and veteran.  I am certain his compassion is sincere due to his action without hesitation.  I am not sure how often you hear of the good deeds of Contractors but I do feel this letter should at least represent one.
Kindest regards
